Quality Assurance
We have been certified for the past 4 years to ISO 9001:2000. Our commitment to quality ensures we provide the best possible service to our clients. We are committed to continual improvement which ensures we are constantly upgrading equipment, work procedures and team training. This is evident in our maintenance and training schedules which include emergency procedures, welding, confined space diving, ship surveys, NDT, drilling, cutting and dive equipment repairs. All contractors can be confident that our work will exceed their standards in a safe and timely manner.
Occupational Health and Safety
We are certified to AS/NZS 4801:2001 Occupational Health and Safety accreditation and externally audited every six months to ensure we are complying to the standard. It therefore goes without saying that our procedures conform to AS2299.1:1999 or exceeds all Australian Standard requirements as guaranteed by ISO 9001-2000. Current changes to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and constant changes to Codes of Practices have a significant impact on all businesses. All of our contractors can feel confident that we keep up to date, constantly train our team members and ensure all of our procedures comply with the latest changes.
Our Team
Mike Hughes – Company Director
Mike has had 30 years commercial diving experience. He manages a team of highly trained and experienced divers. Through his companies he has had experience with the successful completion of many jobs. He has worked nationally and internationally in New Guinea, Bass Strait, United Arab Emirates, North Sea, and Bombay India.
Mike can recount many adventures in his career. These adventures have ensured that there is very little in the onshore marine construction and diving maintenance that Mike has not seen. He passes on his considerable experience and knowledge to his diving crew for every task undertaken by Seaforce. He is in constant contact either onsite or with the dive team and is able to advise and assess accurately what is required to produce the best results.
Jay Boothman – Diving Operations Manager
With over 9 years experience within the diving industry, Jay is a welcome addition to the Seaforce team. After spending 6 years in the Royal Australian Navy as a clearance diver and a further 3 years working offshore diving throughout the North Sea and West Africa, Jay has accepted the position of Diving Operations Manager and Dive Superintendant. Holding certificates as an ADAS Part IV, ADAS Trainee Offshore Supervisor, 3.1u NDT Inspector, Assistant Life Support Technician, Re-Compression Chamber Operator, Mechanical Fitter Tradesman, Master Class 5 and M.E.D. II, Jay's knowledge and leadership has enabled Seaforce personnel to excel in all aspects in the industry.
Jill Joske – Business Development Manager
Jill has had many years experience in managing companies in both Australia and overseas. She has a Bachelor of Business and has extensive knowledge of accounting in addition to company administration. She is responsible for the business direction and planning, goal setting and analysis. She has been instrumental is establishing policy and procedures for our occupational health and safety accreditation, quality management and shipping service provider accreditation.
Andrew Albert – Dive Supervisor
A member of the Seaforce team for five years, Andrew’s safe, professional and detailed approach to work means he is held in high regard by Seaforce and our clients. Andrew is an ADAS Part III diver, ADAS Part II Supervisor, chamber operator, qualified boilermaker and has gained extensive knowledge in the eastern states and Seaforce before moving into the role of Dive Supervisor. In addition to running the dive operations, Andrew is responsible for the training of divers new to the Seaforce team.
Andrew Lees – Skipper/Dive Supervisor
Andrew has 10 years experience within the diving industry as aquaculture diver and commercial diver. Andrew has a Master Class 5 and M.E.D. II qualification. He is a highly valued and respected member of the Seaforce team. He has extensive knowledge in construction, vessel operation and maintenance. Andrew's attention to detail ensures a very high quality of work.
Tom Groenewold - Dive Supervisor
After spending 5 years in the aquaculture and civil diving industries in the Eastern States of Australia, Tom moved to Western Australia and joined the Seaforce team. His dedication and strong work ethic didn’t go unnoticed and was promoted to Supervisor after only one year with the company. Being an ADAS Part II diver, ADAS Part II Supervisor, Bachelor of Marine Resource Management and a Coxswain has given Tom the knowledge and confidence to run some of the companies more challenging long term projects.
Callum Wilson
Callum has been an ADAS Part III diver for 5 years and with Seaforce for three years. Initially hired as a diver and skipper for the Cormorant, he has shown great knowledge and skill that he was promoted to a dive supervisor role within the company. After being given the responsibility of the Fremantle Ports Berth 10 Demolition, he has proven to be a safe and reliable leader who receives enormous respect from his team and clients alike.
Leigh Burns – Safety Representative
Leigh has been in the marine industry for 5 years as both an ADAS Part II diver and a Coxswain. His calm and thought out approach to situations along with his extensive experience gives him a unique ability to learn and teach. These are just a few of the reasons why Leigh is respected by both his team-mates and clients alike and why he has been appointed as the Seaforce Safety Representative.
Paul Johnson – Workshop Supervisor
After earning two trades in the UK, Paul moved to Australia where he obtained his ADAS Part III and chamber operators ticket. His experience as a pluming and gas fitter and being a workshop supervisor for a motor mechanic has given Paul the knowledge and respect to run the Seaforce workshop. His eagerness to learn and pragmatic approach ensures all his work is completed safely and to the highest quality possible.
Dive Team
We are justifiably proud of our long serving dive team, and their commitment to offering the best of safety, service and care to our clients.
All of our dive team are trained to Commonwealth of Australia, Occupational Diving ADAS Part II & III and operate in accordance with Australian Standard 2299.1:2007. All Seaforce team members hold MSIC Cards which gives us the security clearance required to access all port or marine facilities Australia wide. All divers are certified medically fit to dive annually and maintain required first aid training. Seaforce is committed to the ongoing training of our dive teams with respect to every aspect of the industry including emergency training and OHS policies. As well as using outside training facilities we are able to utilize the experience and knowledge of our senior staff and chief divers. Examples of the qualifications held by our divers include:-
