Survey and inspection

Seaforce has achieved Lloyds Shipping accreditation to provide in-water hull inspections and maintenance. Typical surveys may include extension for dry dock, in lieu of dry dock, pre-selling inspections, collision damage, fouling, pre- dry dock conditions, hull plate conditions, weld seams or condition of antifouling. All surveys are conducted using the latest digital video equipment which allows the client or representative to make decisions on site and in real time. Alternatively we are able to burn the video onto CD or DVD for later viewing in addition to compiling detailed reports of all findings made during the survey to client’s specifications.

Vessel repairs and hull cleaning

To recondition propeller surfaces we use an underwater hydraulic power-head. During propeller polishing, all marine growth and calcium layers are removed. This results in a considerable cost saving of fuel when sailing long distances. In addition to cleaning of the propellers, we have a diver operated hydraulic hull cleaning tool capable of removing 800m2 of growth an hour.

Underwater painting

Seaforce are experienced in the underwater painting of structures and vessels. The product we use has a unique two component, polyamine-cured epoxy coating offering application performance advantages unavailable in any other coating. It forms a durable waterproof and chemical proof barrier, which prohibits salt water, chloride ions and other corrosive chemicals from attacking the steel. The paint is especially useful for underwater repairs of steel hulled vessels since underwater steel patches can be painted and protected, saving the enormous cost of putting military and commercial vessels into dry-dock.

Marine Salvage

Seaforce has gained much experience in vessel and vehicle recovery. Using liftbags and cranes we have raised objects ranging from 200kg to 20tonnes and were able to relocate to positions for easy land access. Once on site the divers will conduct an inspection to find the best possible lifting points to cause as little damage as possible. While taking every precaution to eliminate any ill effects to the environment including sealing fuel cells and oil reservoirs.
